Feb 12 2020 Student interest is migrating towards the large-scale "wicked" problems in our world, such as climate change, income inequality, sustainability, and human trafficking. These wicked problems rarely rely on a single discipline for their solution, however our educational system is locked into the single discipline approach. In this February 12 webinar, presenters from James Madison University will discuss a variety of programs that build transdisciplinary opportunities for students.

Collaborative Dynamics in Collective STEM Reform Initiatives
Oct 24 2019 In this October 24 webinar, Lucas Hill will present the Dimensions of Collaborative Dynamics Framework, which identifies the key elements, related to motivation, group norms and processes, support resources, and leadership, that collaborative STEM reform initiatives need to pay attention to in advancing their collective change goals. The framework is the result of a synthesis of three decades of multidisciplinary research and literature regarding complex multi-institutional and multi-sector collaboration and partnerships.
2019 ASCN Systemic Change Institute
Jun 13-15 2019 The Institute is designed to support campus change agents in using institutional change strategies to advance STEM change projects to greater scale and sustainability. Campus teams will bring existing projects, envisioned or started, that they need help bringing to scale or longer-term sustainability. Institute participants will learn about the national context and drivers for change, theories and frameworks of change and the logistics of managing change projects to advance them to scale and sustainability. The Systemic Change Institute is a year-long commitment from ASCN to support teams, and a commitment by teams to work with mentors toward achieving project goals.

Transforming Institutions Conference 2019
Apr 3-5 2019 The Transforming Institutions Conference is designed to bring together researchers, faculty, change agents, administrators, and policymakers to focus on transforming undergraduate education. Participants will have the opportunity to identify critical questions facing institutional change, foster connections with colleagues interested in change, and address important topics related to transforming institutions in higher education. Events will include workshops, presentations, thematic symposia, panel discussions, poster sessions, and two plenaries.
