Prior Organizational Change Work

As co-director of USC's Center for Urban Education (CUE) for six years, I led action research using CUE's Equity Scorecard action research tools and processes through full Scorecard implementation in two public state systems (WI and PA) and through workshops and projects in dozens of California CCs.

How ASCN Can Contribute to my Work

I will benefit by being exposed to new ways of thinking about change, new strategies for organizing efforts direct towards certain goals, results of other projects, evaluation strategies to assess organizational change. No doubt I will meet new people and become part of a more expanded network of scholars who share my research interests.

How I Can Contribute to ASCN

I would contribute by drawing on my areas of expertise: understanding conceptions of equity and ideology; action research and practitioner inquiry methodology, and race conscious /equity-minded change initiatives; organizing teams and teamwork ; and promoting buy in to change.
