Abstract

Inclusive refers to any practice dedicated to improving diversity, equity, inclusion, and/or social justice (DEIJ) in higher education. Are you interested in learning more about defining specific inclusive teaching practices and understanding how you can incorporate, or are incorporating, these practices into your own classes? Join us for a discussion on Thursday, May 12, 2022. This will be the first in a series.

Audience

The target audience for this event is for STEM instructors in higher education who believe they are relatively new to incorporating inclusive teaching practices into their classrooms. Here, inclusive refers to any practice dedicated to improving diversity, equity, inclusion, and/or social justice (DEIJ) in higher education.

Goals

Participants will:

  • Describe how definitions of inclusive teaching impact how instructors might apply DEIJ in STEM classrooms
  • Discuss at least one specific strategy to incorporate in their STEM classroom to support inclusivity in the classroom

Duration - 60 minutes
