Lucas Hill

Lucas Hill (lhill6@wisc.edu) is an Associate Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER). His research focuses on the role of higher education networks in implementing systemic education reform, particularly related to the preparation of future faculty, the adoption of evidence-based pedagogical practices, and broadening the participation of underrepresented students in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) education. He is a member of research and evaluation teams on three large projects: (1) the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL), a network of 37 universities dedicated to improving undergraduate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education through graduate student teaching professional development; (2) the National Science Foundation (NSF) Aspire Alliance, which is a large-scale initiative to prepare a diverse and inclusive national STEM faculty to broaden participation of students from underrepresented groups; and (3) another NSF-funded initiative to build an open-access, multimodal inclusive teaching course for future and current STEM faculty. He earned a B.A. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from Brigham Young University and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University.
