Dr. Gabriela Cornejo Weaver currently serves as a Professor of Chemistry and Assistant Dean for Student Success Analytics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Dr. Cornejo Weaver’s work focuses on transforming institutional practices designed to provide greater student access, persistence, and success in higher education. She has held numerous leadership roles including Vice Provost for Faculty Development; Director of the Institute for Teaching Excellence and Faculty Development; Director of the Discovery Learning Research Center; Assistant Dean in the College of Natural Sciences; and Associate Head of the Chemistry Department. She has been invited by the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine, Board on Science Education, on multiple occasions to serve as a member of consensus study committees, an invited presenter to the STEM Education Roundtable, a White Paper author, and a co-organizer of numerous meetings and workshops. She is an elected lifetime Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and of the American Council on Education, as well as a member of the Sigma Xi scientific research honor society. She has co-authored seven books, published numerous book chapters and scholarly journal articles.
