Consortium Organizations

The Bridging to STEM Excellence (BTSE) project is a consortium consisting of five organizations that direct successful, large-scale professional development initiatives. The following institutions have joined the consortium to coordinate their efforts to accelerate the adoption of department- and program-level changes. As a part of the BTSE Consultancy Program, these organizations work with one another to gain an understanding of each organization.

BioQUEST

BioQUEST emphasizes building inclusive and equitable STEM learning environments and empowers educators to drive innovation in STEM education. Their work translates into practical, accessible, and evidence-based classroom practices and tools.

National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT)

NAGT has expertise in course and program design, including assessment, inclusive and active pedagogies, and strategic planning, for the geosciences and environmental sciences.

National Center for Science and Civic Engagement (NCSCE)

NCSCE works to improve STEM learning with problem-based, civic, and experiential learning.

The POGIL Project

POGIL provides professional development and curricular materials for student-centered guided inquiry learning in the classroom and laboratory across STEM fields. Their pedagogy supports the explicit development of process skills in the context of content mastery.

National Institute on Scientific Teaching (NIST)

NIST has expertise in active learning, effective assessment, and inclusive teaching practices for biology and other STEM fields.
