Description

Students will examine 10 years of preciptitation data, looking for averages, where and when different countries and regions get rain, and if there is a temporal pattern.
They will also look at specific storm events and look at stream gage data, impacts.

Goals

Students will understand distribution and seasonality of precipitation
What is the precipitation in their locality?
Explore features and reasons for these patterns and differences in regions
Understand connections between local and global
Be able compare and contrast different regions

Assessment

Describe local and other regions
Look at student-generated questions and have them develop projects using Giovanni data
